I think hindi naman masyadong dapat iblock to para sa mga employee, because magandang time ito for some available  ease and relaxation, some enjoyable activity for a while..but meron limit ang usage

I dont like that ..she should look or find something to help my store. Anyway, i kick her out.

I voted for 2 items, but same with some of the posts here, it should ideally be all sites. The internet is a privelege given to the employees, and is really not an everyday necessity.

this depends on your position

kung empleyado ka, syempre gusto mo hindi nakablock lahat yan

pero kung ikaw ang may ari, gusto mo iblock lahat yan

lets be honest, having options to go to such sites can be a distraction from the work you are doing. this is precisely why in most companies that have an IT department, they block access to those para iwas temptation.

now some will counter saying that those sites can be used to take off some stress once in awhile. para naman makapagrelax konte. the question is, can it be controlled? kasi baka later wala na inatupag kundi mag blog, friendster, myspace, facebook, etc etc (alam ko since I know a LOT of people are doing this, kung ano ano na ang ginawa nila para lang malusotan ang settings and makapasok sa mga sites na yan).

Don't block anything! If they cannot do the work, then they are fired. Let's promote bringing fun to work. Working and having fun ideally reaps better result. There are humongous unemployed people looking for work out there. If we block them a tendency is,  their mind would become occupied looking for ways how to unblock it.  Tongue
We can rate our employees by giving them objectives, goals, or quota  and compare how much they've done at the end of the day.

Nice points everyone!!

I've read somewhere that based on a certain study conducted, when employees can access social networks and other site of their interest their productivity actually increases. I'm going to find that link later. This is specially clear on creative jobs, like architecs, musicians, designers, where one has to detached himself for a while to have some new perspective and inspiration. Same as true for people on monotonous jobs and routine tasks, a short distraction of fun can help a lot.

This shows that we humans are social beings and not machines.
We do well in our work or job once we find some type of enjoyment too. Same as learning. we learn better when its fun doing it. I'm beginning to doubt the old adage: work while you work, play while you play. I think its better to do both!

The single most important thing for the employees is that they can accomplish their job assignments or quotas on time. and instead of blocking this sites and restricting them from accessing it, make it an incentive for them to work, make it a motivation for them to love the work place and the company. Lets work and have fun!! Grin
