Hello xcents, good evening. Smiley

My new laptop battery is not working !! What's wrong?

New batteries are usually shipped in a discharged condition and must be charged before use. It is recommended that Li-Ion and NiCd batteries receive an initial overnight charge (approximately twelve hours), whereas NiMH requires 24hrs. Refer to your computer manual for charging instructions. Rechargeable batteries should be conditioned before normal use by ensuring they are charged and then fully discharged for the first 3 to 4 charge cycles. This allows the batteries to reach their full capacity.

Take care and God bless. Smiley

i am not an expert but i think the problem lies in the contact points between the battery and the laptop..

or if the laptop is already old, maybe there are defects in the laptop motherboard...

windows 7 ultimate/enterprise editions require decent hardware t run aero and other features...

when you say "cannot open laptop even when battery is full", do you mean that windows OS does not load or the laptop is unable to boot?

3 years na ang acer laptop ko, model aspire 4720 with intel core 2 duo 1.6ghz processor, 2x512mb ddr2 memory (now replaced with 1x2gb ddr2-800), 120gb hdd, windows vista home premium x86 (now dual-booted with windows 7 home premium x64)...

aside from the battery with 50-70 minutes variable life span, my laptop is fine...able to install left4dead and left4dead2 (unplayable!!!...hehehe)

a year ago, the lcd screen "cracked" and was replaced with a compatible second-hand lcd screen (about ~12000php)...

columbia computer store (divisoria) in cagayan de oro city will accept battery replacement order for acer laptop with price of about ~4300-4800php, 3 weeks wait time for replacement order...
