Good day PC Forumers. Smiley

The Administrative Staff had already noticed this before. Some members will just post “Need help here. My computer got an error. What should I do?”. Posting a problem with incomplete information is just equivalent to “incompetent”. How can we help if your post is lack of information? So we are asking you to Help Us and we will Help You the best way we could. The primary function of PC Forums is to help members troubleshoot their computer units. Below is the additional information and suggestions on what you should indicate when posting a problem on the PC Forums.

1. Tell us the scenario before the problem occurred.

  • What is the main problem of your computer?
  • When did the issue start occurring?
  • What was the last thing you did before the problem occurred?
  • Have you installed any hardware or software before the problem occurred?

2. What troubleshooting have you done so far? This will eliminate repeated suggestions.

3. After applying the advices/suggestions from your co-members, please post back the result whether they were helpful or not.

By doing so:
  • You will get more advices or suggestions if the earlier ones didn't work.
  • You will provide references to the other members who might experience the same problem.

4. Is there an error message? When did the error message appear? What's the error said? If you are getting an error please include it in your post. Include screen shots if necessary.

5. Basic details on your computer. Always indicate your complete system specifications in your post. If you are newbie to this, here are the programs that will help you get those specifications below:

Specifications:
  • Processor – brand, model and clock speed
  • Motherboard – brand and model
  • Memory - brand, type and size
  • Hard Disk Drive – brand and size
  • Display Adapter – brand and model (tell us if it is integrated or not)
  • Soundcard – brand and model (tell us if it is integrated or not)
  • Power Supply – brand, model and watt
  • Operating System – name and version

In this way, posting a problem with complete information is much easier to identify by your co-members of its culprit.

Once you're ready to ask your question please post your message on the main forum.

If you don’t know how to create a new topic, here’s the guide.

Thanks and God bless. Smiley
